Bio
Originally from Jamaica, I have been translating, teaching and training for approximately 19 years and am currently a Senior Professor at Florida State University Panama's English Language Program as well as a Certified Public Translator by Panama's Ministry of Education.

I specialize in and much enjoy the following areas:

Ø Translation of a variety of text types (Spanish to English and vice versa)

Ø Foreign language teaching/ training for general and specific purposes (primarily English and Spanish)

Ø Human Resources and Training for the Tourism Sector (Customer Service, The History and Impact of Tourism, Travel Motives and Trends, Tour Guiding Skills)

Ø Sustainable Tourism Development and Public Policy

I have studied in the U.S. (in New Mexico and Vermont), Spain and Jamaica. I completed a Bachelor's Degree in Spanish Language and Literature and Political Science in 1993, a Master’s Degree in Sustainable International Tourism in 1997 and an MA in Teaching English as a Foreign Language via distance mode in 2009. I am a certified public translator (English >Spanish and English < Spanish) by Panama's Ministry of Education.

I have a keen interest in e-learning and the use of virtual worlds in teaching foreign languages as well as tourism and hospitality. I strongly believe in God, family and life-long learning.
