English to Hungarian: Violence against Roma - Amnesty International Hungary General field: Social Sciences Detailed field: Government / Politics
Source text - English Violations against the Roma people in France. EveryOne Group: “An appeal to the European Commission to take the French Government before the European Court of Justice”.
Milan, September 15th, 2010. After the series of evictions from Roma squatter camps without any respect for children, pregnant women, sick and marginalized people, (in defiance of the EU directives 2000/43/CE and 2004/38/CE, the EU's Charter of Fundamental Rights, all the Conventions and international declarations that protect the rights of the individual, children and peoples); after the expulsions the French Government has tried to pass off as voluntary repatriation (on the basis of a strategy already used in Italy, well-documented by EveryOne Group and other humanitarian organizations); after the arrogant and scornful response to the warnings issued by the European Commission, the European Parliament, the United Nations, Vatican and all the international human rights associations; the French Interior Minister has now sent a circular to all the prefectures and police headquarters in the country in which he orders them to continue persecuting the Roma people based on their ethnic group - the aim of the roundups being fresh expulsions from French soil.
What is more, a xenophobic and anti-tsiganist culture has started to spread throughout France, episodes of violence and persecution of the Roma community are taking place, and in the courts sentences are being issued on the basis of the defendant's ethnic group. All this is modelled on the measures being used in Italy, whose Interior Minister, Roberto Maroni (Northern League) has several times declared war on the Roma and their “unlawfulness” in remaining on Italian soil. This attitude has led to the carrying out - in agreement with the police force and local authorities and institutions – of unjust camp clearances and expulsions, and arrests for illegally occupying public and private land and derelict and abandoned buildings.
After the legitimate criticism put forward by Viviane Reding, the Vice-President of the European Commission, the French Government replied in defiant tones, offering futile and factious justifications for their racist policies - even going so far as to threaten the European Union with tones that remind us of Adolf Hitler's Germany: “This not how you address a great nation”.
Considering the facts mentioned above, and the level of incivility that appears to have covered France in a blanket of racist and anti-European sentiments, EveryOne Group (the international human rights organization based in Italy which concerns itself with the defence of the Roma and Sinti people in Europe and the protection of other minorities throughout the world) is officially appealing to the European Commission to call a meeting with the College of Commissioners, and, with courage and determination (in line with the founding principles of the European Union) to bring the violations being carried out by the French Government to the attention of the European Court of Justice.
Trusting you will take our proposal into consideration, we are always available if you should require further documentation, reports and witness statements,
In the meantime we would like to take this opportunity to send you our kindest regards,
Translation - Hungarian Romák elleni atrocitások Franciaországban.
Miután sorozatosan lakoltattak ki romákat táborokból tekintet nélkül a gyermekekre, várandós asszonyokra, betegekre és a társadalom peremén élőkre (ami sérti az Európai Unió 2000/43/EK és a 2004/38/EK irányelveit, az Európai Unió Alapjogi Chartáját, minden olyan egyezményt és nemzetközi nyilatkozatot, amely egyének, gyermekek és népek jogait védi);
miután a francia kormány a kiutasításokat önkéntes hazatelepítésként próbálta beállítani (egy Olaszországban alkalmazott stratégia alapján, amelyet az EveryOne Group és más humanitárius szervezetek is részletesen dokumentáltak);
és miután a francia kormány arogánsan és gúnyosan válaszolt az Európai Bizottság, az Európai Parlament, az ENSZ, a Vatikán és nemzetközi emberi jogi szervezetek figyelmeztetésére;

A) 1 milliárd B) 1,4 milliárd C) 1,8 milliárd
2011-re a világ lakossága a 7 milliárdot elérheti. 1 dollárból egy amerikai McDonald’s-ban egy kis krumplit kapsz.
2. 2008-ban hány ember volt a világon alultáplált? (MFC jelentés, p. 11)
A) 520 millió fő B) 675 millió fő C) 915 millió fő
(http://www.unicef.org/mdg/poverty.html)
A) 3,6 mp B) 5,1 mp C) 10,4 mp
4. A szegénységhez a háború és a fegyveres konfliktusok is hozzájárulnak. Hány ember él a világban jelenleg távol az otthonától ilyen okok miatt? (MFC jelentés, p. 15)
A) 35 millió B) 42 millió C) 54 millió
Tehát Magyarország lakosságának több mint a négyszerese!
5. A MFC közül a második a mindenkire kiterjedő oktatás elérését tűzte ki maga elé. A fejlődő országokban hány felnőttre jut egy írástudatlan? (Oxfam UK)
A) 6 B) 5 C) 4
A) 21% B) 35% C) 39%
8. Az egyetemes általános oktatás 10 milliárd dollárba kerülne évente. Szerinted mennyit költenek az amerikaiak fagylaltra? (ActionAid)
A) 20 milliárd dollár B) 10 milliárd dollár C) 5 milliárd dollár
Ez Magyarország GDP-jének kb. a hatoda! (2009-ben 125,7 milliárd dollár – CIA World factbook)

A) 34% B) 39% C) 47%
A svéd parlamentnek majdnem a fele nő!
3. A nők egyenjogúsága felé tett lépésként értékelendő a választójog megszerzése. Magyarországon mióta szavazhatnak a nők?
A) 1918 B) 1920 C) 1926
(AskWomen)
A) 55% B) 65% C) 75%
5. A negyedik célja a programnak az öt éves kor alatti gyermekhalandóság kétharmaddal történő lecsökkentése. Mit gondolsz évente hány öt évesnél kisebb gyermek hal meg könnyen megelőzhető betegségben?
A) 9 millió B) 11 millió C) 15 millió
(http://www.unicef.org/mdg/childmortality.html)
A) 10 B) 20 C) 30!!
7. A gyermekhalandóság terén történtek már előrelépések. 1990 óta szerinted hány százalékkal csökkent az öt év alatti gyermekhalandóság a fejlődő világban? (MFC jelentés, p. 26)
A) 20% B) 25% C) 28%
8. Melyek a leggyakoribb okok a gyermekkori halálra? (http://www.unicef.org/mdg/childmortality.html)
A) hasmenés, alultápláltság, tüdőgyulladás, malária
