Source text - English One of the most fascinating things on Hundertwasser is that he is the only artist I´ve heard of that had defended and used the permaculture techniques.
In complete coherence with the principles he advised, Hundertwasser had developed his own humus toilet – which does not use water and so does not pollute it – gray waters plans, fotovoltaic panels, and green roofs. Besides, he often used discarded materials.
All those techniques are part of the design system developed by australians Bill Mollison e David Holmgrem back in the 1970´s, aiming to create a culture that would meet human needs causing the least possible harm to the environment.
Translation - Portuguese Uma das coisas que eu achei mais fascinantes em Hundertwasser é que ele é o único artista que eu já ouvi falar que não só usou como defendeu as técnicas da permacultura.
Em total coerência com os princípios de conservação natural que pregava, Hundertwasser desenvolveu seu próprio banheiro seco, usou telhados verdes em sua propriedade na Nova Zelândia e em vários de seus projetos arquitetônicos, painéis fotovoltaicos (também na Nova Zelândia), reaproveitou material de descarte e projetou esquemas de coleta e tratamento de águas da chuva.
Todas essas técnicas fazem parte do sistema de design desenvolvido pelos australianos Bill Mollison e David Holmgrem nos anos 1970, a fim de criar assentamentos humanos que provessem nossas necessidades causando o mínimo impacto negativo no ambiente.
