Dal cemento non può nascere un fiore… oppure sì? Questo è quello che sembra raccontarci questa bella storia, che mostra come dal marcio si può trarre del bene. Una ex proprietà di un clan della camorra è stato infatti trasformato in un parco fotovoltaico. Tutto è stato possibile grazie all’arresto del boss Francesco Schiavone, meglio conosciuto come Sandokan (proprietario tra le altre cose di un’azienda agricola che fungeva da covo mafioso), e all’impegno di un consorzio, Agrorinasce, che non ha avuto paura di comprare quel terreno di 13 ettari trasformandolo in qualcosa di buono per l’ambiente. Ci troviamo a Ferrandelle, tra Caserta e Casal di Principe, Santa Maria La Fossa. Oggi questa proprietà è diventata uno dei parchi fotovoltaici più grandi del Sud Italia: qui vengono prodotti 3 Megawatt di energia. Ci sono anche altre iniziative interessanti che è possibile realizzare in questa area così estesa: in una porzione del parco infatti saranno costruiti degli edifici in cui saranno allestite scuole di educazione ambientale per i ragazzi della zona. In un’altra parte del terreno verranno piantati novemila alberi di eucalipto. Stanno per partire i primi bandi di gara, tra cui quello per la realizzazione del parco fotovoltaico che si spera vedrà la grande partecipazione di imprese. A spiegare con orgoglio il progetto è Giovanni Allucci, amministratore delegato di Agrorinasce che sottolinea l’importanza di questa trasformazione di un terreno sequestrato alle mafie. In questo modo un bene confiscato alla camorra è diventato un punto di contatto tra Stato e cittadini, per una collaborazione dal grande valore simbolico.

A flower cannot grow in cement… or can it? That is what this beautiful story seems to tell us, showing that from corruption one can draw some good. An ex-property of a Camorra clan has been, in fact transformed into a photovoltaic park. All this has been possible thanks to the arrest of the boss Franco Schiavone, best known as Sandokan (owner of, amongst other things, a farming business that acted as a mafia hideout) and through the endeavour of a consortium, Agrorinasce, which has not had fear in buying that land of some 13 hectares, transforming it into something of benefit to the environment. We find ourselves at Ferrandelle, between Caserta and Casal di Principe, Santa Maria La Fossa. Today this estate has become one of the largest photovoltaic parks in the South of Italy: here 3 Megawatts of energy can be produced. There are also other interesting initiatives that it is possible to carry out in this extensive area: in fact in one portion of the park some building will be built in which will be set up environmental education schools for children from the area. On another part of the land there will be nine thousand eucalyptus trees planted. The first calls for tenders are about to be launched and will include the project for the photovoltaic park aiming at attracting some major business participation. To explain with pride is Giovanni Allucci, delegated administrator of Agrorinasce who underlines the importance of this transformation of an estate sequestered from the mafia. In this way, a resource confiscated from the Camorra has become a point of contact between the State and the citizens for a collaboration of great symbolic value.
