Translation - English For this article I’ve frequently been up deep into the night searching for ground-breaking websites. And it’s like looking for a needle in the haystack – the haystack that is the World Wide Web. Actually, a haystack is too good a description for what is an ever-growing dumping ground. Don’t get me wrong, I’m a proper Internet junkie. But the day somebody invents a search engine that, knowing exactly what captivates men, automatically goes searching and separates the chaff from the wheat, is the day I’ll really be celebrating!

Translation - English Communication is an important training objective. When a child can make his wishes clear, it often leads to a reduction in potential problematic behaviour. John’s training involved various programmes designed to improve his communication. So he practiced using his own initiative to ask for things he wanted, while attention was also given to the construction of full sentences and taking the initiative to communicate.

Translation - English Labour of love in the terroir
After more than two decades spent advising the South African wine community, Gerard de Villiers has started his own wine farm at last. But now he’s pondering how he can make things even better. A true perfectionist, Gerard is his own sternest critic. And for him, that’s proven a rather successful formula.

Wine tasting at Kleinood is by appointment only. Even so, the farm gets a lot of spontaneous visitors. That’s because although Kleinood is pretty remote, the people who do pass its gates simply can’t resist stopping in.
First impressions of Kleinood are stunning, but don’t be fooled. You might think it’s thanks to dutiful care and maintenance that the wine cellars and manor house have survived the last hundred years in such fine shape. But in truth, the whitewashed buildings with the wrought iron window frames and shutters are only about six years old.

Experience
Years of experience: 26. Registered at ProZ.com: Jun 2011.
I am a professional freelance translator and writer, widely published in a multitude of English publications and websites. Add to this my flair for languages and translation, and you have someone who can translate several languages into clean and thoroughly readable English.
However, I am moving towards a specialization in translating Dutch to English. I am also a specialist in French birth and marriage certificates. And, following my recent contract work for Bristol-Myers Squibb's multi-language European publications team, I have experience of medical and pharmaceutical texts in all my language pairs.
I am fairly new to ProZ.com but I do have an excellent rating from my previous work on Elance. This can be viewed here.
You may ask why I have not pursued Elance further. The answer is that since I began freelancing in 2009 I have focused on establishing a name for myself in the print world, as well as building up good personal relationships with editors. That done, I have decided to venture back into this kind of online work in the hopes of developing a great reputation for my translation skills.
I decided to take the ProZ.com route rather than returning to Elance because ProZ.com is dedicated to translation. It also charges good money for membership, which I hope limits the competition to only proper professionals such as myself!
