Originally from Russia where I obtained Master's degree in Linguistics (English and French), I moved to France to continue my studies (Bachelor's Degree in Applied Foreign Languages: English/ French/Italian, University of Caen, and Master's degree in Languages and International Trade, University Rennes 2).
I speak French since my childhood, I lived in France for 7 years, and I fully master French on a native-speaker level.
Now I live in Montreal (Quebec) where I work as an independent translator for several agencies.
I fluently speak 4 languages (Russian, French, English and Italian) - languages are truly my passion!
My education and diverse work experiences in various fields helped me develop numerous skills.
My Master's degree in Linguistics (Russia) finished with a research work on a role of background knowledge & vocabulary in a language (background knowledge meaning words which cannot be translated easily by a single word as they need the context explanation of cultural & historical references of a source language environment).
My Master's degree in Languages and International Trade (France) emphasized the importance of marketing & customer service: my ultimate goal is the customer satisfaction with my translation which include such strong points as accurate choice of words, use of synonyms, as well as beautiful, clean & attractive presentation of a document.
For me this playing with words (which people commonly name "translation") means paying attention to every single word.
While translating, in order to ensure the accuracy and quality of my work, I check many times the meaning of proper nouns, abbreviations, key words and connotations in different sources.
I also review and edit translations of the others, thus I can guarantee the perfect presentation without typos or careless mistakes.
