Whatever the appearances, translation is not a trivial task. A good translation means more than a simple word-for-word replacement. A delicate and high-quality translation should convey the meaning of the original text while being natural and readable. The style, tone, grammar and accuracy are also essential. However, when we talk about the marketing or advertising, the nearest translation is not a key evaluation criterion for such kinds of texts. The main virtue of marketing and advertising texts is their perception by the target audience. With this end in view, a translator sometimes needs to be creative and withdraw from an exact match with phrases and expressions of the source text (without loss of the informational content and basic idea).
