I was born in Santiago, Chile. In 1973, right after the bombing of La Moneda and the death of the then President, Salvador Allende, my parents flew me to the United States of America to live with relatives until Chile was a safe country again. With not a word of English, was not going to be easy to make friends and as friendly as I was, I took the challenge. Three months later, not only I was the chatter box at school but I also became the official interpreter/translator of my household and a blessing to the Americans that had wedded my mother's sisters with whom until then, they could hardly communicate. Back then, did not occurred to me that 30 years later I would still be fascinated with this side of communication. I enjoy very much translating and I have a passion for languages and I am only sorry that I did not pursue this career earlier. Still, it is never too late to dedicate one's time to doing what one enjoys the most and here I am, living in the Italian part of Switzerland, learning Italian and Latin, gaining my certification as a translator after having lived in Australia for 25 years where I worked in a variety of fields in my capacity of Bilingual Personal Assistant and interpreter/translator as well. I have years of experience in the shipping industry, patents and trademarks field, Alzheimer/Dementia Care, Hospitality Management, Beauty care and now, I am working as a translator for a company that deals with household environmentally friendly/biodegradable chemicals in Europe, Africa, Middle East, North and South America.
