It was in 1980, just after graduating from the Faculty of Germanic Languages and Literatures (highest degree diploma in English-Romanian, Swedish optional), University of Bucharest, that my initial English translator certificate was released after separate tests.
The expertise I have been acquiring along thirty years of translation work (as detailed in my hereto attached CV) supports my interest for the challenging tasks advertised by your agency. The translation duties I had been regularly completing during my employment history involved both a reliable language command and keen knowledge of terms and phrasings specific of technical, economic, legal, trade and other fields. The subject-matters I have been trying my hand at range from iron metallurgy, minerals, chemistry of coal & coke, blast furnaces and foundry plants, to mechanics, electricity and electronics, international exchanges and their related legislation, medicine, education and sociology, literature, news & advertising, IT.
The titles listed in the attachment exhibit some of the EU legislation items that I have been frequently translating from and working with, as an English translator authorized and registered with the Romanian Ministry of Justice. A continuous guidance for my works has always been the Stylistic Guide of UE meant for the EU Community Acquis documents to be translated into Romanian. I feel confident and capable of doing the proper job you might expect. The communication skills specified in my CV are built on solid practices with some other foreign languages, French and Italian included.
My daily work duties involved the translation of business letters, commercial and marketing documents, interpreting during meetings on technical, trading and financial topics, managing correspondence and contacts, apart from translating contracts, technical documentation, legislation and the fulfilment of other related tasks.
I shall be available for further information and details, whenever necessary. Hoping that my level of experience will prove satisfactory, I express an option to work online from home, given a permanent access to the Internet. |
