Source text - English The plants are tobacco, but they are not intended to be smoked. Instead, the scientists who work on them believe they could save lives. Each has been genetically engineered to carry a gene that is usually found in common algae. Inside its cells, the foreign DNA forces the tobacco plant to churn out a protein that is useless to it, but that happens to be a potent drug against HIV. The scientists say the drug, and others like it, could save millions of lives across the developing world. The technique has been dubbed pharmaceutical farming, or pharming, and it is emerging as the latest battleground in the war over genetic modification.

Source text - English Our visible world, as well as other (to us) invisible worlds, take their contingent existences and reality from God. Higher, invisible worlds have their own purposes and realities just as our material realm does. All of creation is, of course, an interconnected whole, created by and entirely dependent on God; yet in relation to each other, each realm of existence is dependent on and a shadow of the realm above it, right up to the Attributes of God and, beyond that, God Himself, Exalted is He, Who can only be truly known by Himself. The higher the realm of existence, the ‘nearer’ to God it is, as it were, the more ‘real’ it becomes and the less conditioned it is in relation to whatever is below it. The ‘normal’ everyday world we believe we live and function in is affected immeasurably by the realities above it, whether we are aware of this or not. Knowledge of the invisible domains is not conjectural but based on scriptural evidence given to mankind by Divine revelation. More importantly, these domains are within the direct perception of divine Messengers and other illumined beings, who can see, hear, smell, and describe them from first-hand experience. This knowledge recedes into the background and then disappears as people become more materialistic and opaque; however, without it, an adequate understanding of the human situation is impossible.

Source text - English Two Divisions of Characteristics
Intrinsic or Basic Characteristics : These are characteristics that are part of the intrinsic make up of the letter and never leave the letter. This is what will be discussed in this section.
Incidental or Conditional Characteristics: These are characteristics which are present in a letter in some cases, and not present in the letter in other cases. An example of this would be إدغام. These are covered in other areas of this book (included in part one), and not discussed in this chapter.

Experience
Years of experience: 15. Registered at ProZ.com: Mar 2012.
I was born in Quebec but spent many years in English Canada, in the United States and in the Middle East. My native language is French although I was brought up in an English-speaking suburb of Montreal, becoming bilingual and I would say bi-cultural as well early on. Then later, in Jeddah, I learned to read, write and converse - although not fluently - in Arabic.
This helped me to proofread a book translated from Arabic into French for Dr. Mostafa al Badawi, a psychiatrist working in Saudi Arabia. I then translated into French a book which Dr. Mostafa had written in English called Man and the Universe . I enjoyed the translation and had done other smaller projects before that. This prompted me to do the Translation Certificate Course “Certificat de traduction par Internet“ offered by the Collège universitaire de Saint-Boniface. I obtained the certificate in May, 2008 with a 4.22 GPA. Since then I’ve worked on several books and have done smaller translations for a local agency.
My research skills are good and I can work in fields other than those I have experience in as long as the work is intended for the general public. I look forward to hearing from anyone interested in my services.
Thank you
