Malay to English: Gagal Perhimpunan Haram ( Strike Failure) General field: Other Detailed field: Government / Politics
Translation - English Kuala Lumpur, June 22nd – The illegal gathering or strike, organized by Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim who was well known as the rise of the citizen who opposed the decision of the country 13th General Votes, has proven a failure with only roughly 200,000 participants.
The total of participants for the gathering was from seven locations before parading at the ‘Padang Merbok’ (Merbok field) turned out to be much lower comparing to the goal set by the opposition party which were 500,000 participants.
Followed by the incident, the advisor of the party ‘Parti Keadilan Rakyat’ (PKR) (Justice of the Citizen Party), Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, was forced to make excuses to blame the failure on the haze that hit the country and other neighbor countries as well.
Regardless of the excuses given by Mr. Anwar, it was just a cover up for the opposition party’s failure as majority participants beginning to leave the main location at the ‘Padang Merbok’ (Merbok Field) as early as 4 pm, even before Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim began his speech.

My name is Norazilinah Ingram. I was born and raised in Singapore in a native Malay family, speaking Bahasa Melayu as my first language or in another word 'mother’s tongue. I completed my grade School in Singapore. I worked for a few translating companies and I have dealt with translation projects in Singapore. I taught ‘Bahasa Melayu’ at the secondary (equivalent to high school in United States) school for two years. I came to United States in 1993. Although I have been in United States for more 20 years, the knowledge of speaking and write Malay (Bahasa Melayu) language does not wither away as I always communicate with my family in Singapore in daily basis.
I have always enjoyed working with people. Being born and raised in a multi-racial country, I am exposed to many different cultures and races. The Malay culture and language is similar to Indonesia. Geographically, Indonesia is the neighbor country for Singapore. Trades, business and tourism among these two countries are part of everyday life. Many of my relatives living in Jakarta, Indonesia. Communications between Malay and Indonesia language is just part of life for me.
Being able to speak, read and write Bahasa Melayu and Bahasa Indonesia, is an asset. I wish to contribute my knowledge by joining Proz.com. With a strong family support and background from family especially my husband, who is majoring in Accounting and English, we made a good team for this profession. Since I have been living in United States, English has become my first language. I am in my last year in getting my Bachelor Degree in Human Resource and Business Management. My goal is to have my own business someday dealing with communication or translation. But one thing many people do not know about me that I am good in fine art and a had produced a few art pieces that I may consider selling someday.
I am excited to have this opportunity to meet and deal with people in various countries, cultures and languages through Proz.com. Hoping to offer you good, honest and friendly service. Wishing you all the best!
