Source text - English Lacosamide, in tablet, oral solution (syrup) or intravenously has been approved for the treatment of partial-onset seizures when it is taken with additional antiepileptic medications in patients with age 17 years and older in the USA and with age 16 years and older in Europe. As of 31st August 2014, approximately 6844 patients have been exposed to lacosamide in ongoing and completed clinical studies. This includes intravenous and oral application in healthy participants, patients with kidney or liver impairment (kidneys or liver are not working appropriately), children with epilepsy, participants with partial-onset seizures, primary generalized tonic-clonic seizures, different kinds of pain (diabetic neuropathic pain, mixed neuropathic pain, postherpetic neuralgia, fibromyalgia), osteoarthritis (condition that affects the joints), or migraine (severe headache).
