I used to describe myself as a jack-of-all-trades. I have so many interests, and it's very hard to choose one to give my professional life one specific direction.
Until I discovered that this kind of personality has a different, less pejorative name: multipotentialite. It means that I have many fields of interest, like to change careers, and can't seem to stay in one place forever.
Since that discovery, my life has taken a leap forward into a faster pace.
I also discovered that there are multiple recurring themes in my search for the ideal life: language, photography and the beauty of our natural world.
Language has always interested me and I have a feel for them. I remember my father urging me to pick the language courses over social studies or science when we had to choose direction after elementary school, because I was singing along to an Italian song, without any prior knowledge of the language.
I didn't see it that way though, typically teenager, I guess. The natural world interested me more, and I decided to become a veterinarian. When those studies proved too mathematical for my non-mathematical brain, I took a different path and became a Medical Secretary.
The pull of the natural world, however, didn't cease. After a couple of years, I went back to college and got my bachelor's degree in Agro- and Biotechnology: Animal Care.
And now I will pursue a more location independent lifestyle. This next turn in my professional life will, I hope, permit me to see the world as I always should have and to show my daughter the wonders of our beautiful planet.
