Source text - English An example is the Mihwar (axis) group which was formed in Cairo in early 1980's and lived two years. The group comprised four of the vanguard artists who collaborated in creating an artist work of several cubic meters of space. They created a hulk of wood, cloth, ropes, prefabricated materials, electric illumination and coloured panoramas, giving the work a theatrical ambiguity, attraction, stimulating curiosity and imagination.
In spite of their different trends and schools, they gathered forces for creating a work that cannot be bought or sold with several thousands of pounds cost, persisting only for dozens of days. However, it expresses a revolutionary opinion and aimed at amazing and reconsidering life.
The experiment may have been one of the most serious modernization attempts as it was a visual expression in line with the social and scientific conceptions of the age.
As to the general trends, an abstract and confining to aesthetic values. The prevailing trend is based on the hypothesis that imitating nature ties up the artist freedom.
Such trend was accompanied by a call for no-identity and internationality of art and culture as well as liberlisation from clads of the local heritage, describing the regional nature works as of tourist feature.
The pillars of that trend were deepened when a group of prominent painting, sculpture, and color specialists and artists shifted from figurative to abstract and breaking the traditional criteria they used to adopt.
Such liberalization sneaked the traditional ties and clads in spite of difference between fine arts of drawing, coloring, printing and sculpture.
By so doing, difference vanished and arts blended and were hybred, resulting in new sorts of artistic formations.
Artists looked for the language of the age and the abstract aesthetic values within the dialogue between colors, lines, and spaces. Perfection, skillful performance and technique as well as ambiguous means have become of the vaues on which assessment depends.
Under this abstract trend two trends could be traced, the unformative or dynamic, depending on unconsciousness, immediate projection and discharging the creation charge once reasons exit. The second trend is combining the geometrical and organic forms, based on consciousness, desgning and building aesthetic values according to accurate calculations, insuring the natural or semi-natural element in the trunk of the general formation.
Translation - Arabic ومن الأمثلة على ذلك (جماعة المحور) التي أُنشِئت في أوائل الثمانينيات في القاهرة واستمرت لمدة عامين. وقد تكونت المجموعة من أربعة فنانين من فناني الطليعة الذين تعاونوا من أجل ابتكار عمل فني بمساحة عدة أمتار مكعبة. لقد ابتكروا أعمالًا ضخمة وثقيلة من الخشب والأقمشة والحبال والمواد الجاهزة، والإنارة الكهربائية والاستعراضات الملونة، والتي أضفت على العمل نوعًا من الغموض المسرحي، والجاذبية والفضول المثير والخيال.
وعلى الرغم من اختلاف اتجاهاتهم ومدارسهم إلا إنهم قد وحدوا الجهود والقوى من أجل ابتكار عمل لا يمكن بيعه أو شراؤه بآلاف الجنيهات، ولكنه يدوم فقط لأيام معدودة. ومع ذلك فإنه يعبر عن فكر ثوري يهدف إلى إعادة النظر في الحياة وجعلها مثيرة ومذهلة.

وبالنسبة للاتجاهات العامة، فقد كانت تجريدية ومحصورة في القيم الجمالية. أما الاتجاه السائد فقد كان قائمًا على الفرضية التي تُحاكي الطبيعة وتُقيد حرية الفنان.
وقد كان هذا الاتجاه مصحوبًا بدعوة إلى إلغاء الهوية وإلى عالمية الفن والثقافة، بالإضافة إلى التحرر من آثار التراث المحلي، واصفًا أعمال الطبيعة الإقليمية وكأنها ميزة سائح.
وقد تعمقت الأسس الخاصة بهذا الاتجاه عندما قامت مجموعة مشهورة من الفنانين والمتخصصين في التصوير الزيتي والنحت والتلوين بالانتقال من العمل الرمزي إلى العمل التجريدي وكسر جميع القواعد التقليدية التي اعتادوا تبنيها.
ولكن هذا التحرر تسرب إلى الروابط التقليدية على الرغم من الاختلاف بين الفنون الجميلة من الرسم والتلوين والطباعة والنحت.
وبذلك اختفى الاختلاف واندمجت الفنون مُكونة بذلك نوع جديد من التشكيلات الفنية.
لقد نظر الفنانون إلى لغة العصر وإلى القيم الجمالية التجريدية من خلال الحوار بين الألوان والخطوط والمساحات. وأصبحت المثالية والأداء المهاري والتقنيات وكذلك الوسائل الغامضة هي القيم التي يعتمد عليها التقييم.
وتحت هذا الاتجاه التجريدي يمكن تتبع اتجاهين آخرين، الأول: الحركي المعتمد على اللاوعي والإسقاط المباشر وإطلاق الإبداع طالما أن الأسباب موجودة. والاتجاه الثاني: هو الذي يجمع بين الأشكال الهندسية والعضوية معتمداً على الوعي، ويُصمم ويُنشئ قيماً جمالية اعتمادًا على حسابات دقيقة ومُؤكِداً على العناصر الطبيعية أو النصف طبيعية في جذع (الجزء السفلي) التشكيل العام.
