Weco’s new innovative compact edger combines functionality
with aesthetic design. The system comprises the impressive
Trace 3 and the Edge 330 Compact with integrated Mini
Blocker. Within this remarkably small footprint contains an
edger that will fulfil every step of the edging process with
ut most accu racy: tracing, centering, blocking and edging.
Every lens ma terial may be processed using the combination

Tracing without limit
The Trace 3 provides automatic frame tracing to the highest
standard and precision. The intuitive 3D tracer’s accuracy is
further enhanced by the automatic measurement of the frame

on the colour touch-screen.

Source text - English Nonerosive reflux disease (NERD) represents the more common phenotypic presentation of GERD and comprises patients who have typical symptoms without any mucosal breaks at endoscopy. However, these patients are markedly heterogeneous from a pathophysiological point of view and should be correctly classified by means of 24 h impedance-pH testing, which enables detection of both acidic and weakly acidic reflux and correlation with symptoms.
This technique is able to identify two subsets of NERD (that is, patients with an excess of acid or with a hypersensitive oesophagus to both acid and weakly acidic reflux) and patients with functional heartburn (who do not have any kind of reflux underlying their symptoms and must be excluded from the realm of GERD). The mechanisms of symptom generation are not clear in patients with NERD, but the presence of microscopic oesophagitis, including the dilation of intercellular spaces, seems to have a relevant role. Patients with NERD in whom acid is the main pathogenetic factor respond successfully to PPI therapy, while those with hypersensitive oesophagus to weakly acidic reflux need to be treated with reflux inhibitors or surgery, although the experience in this field is very scant. Patients with functional heartburn should undergo therapy with pain modulators, but large placebo-controlled trials are necessary.
Translation - Italian La Malattia da reflusso gastroesofageo non erosiva (NERD) rappresenta la più comune presentazione fenotipica della GERD e comprende pazienti che manifestano sintomi tipici senza alcuna erosione della mucosa all’endoscopia. Tuttavia, tali pazienti sono notevolmente eterogenei dal punto di vista fisiopatologico e dovrebbero essere classificati correttamente per mezzo di pH-impedenziometria delle 24 ore; ciò permetterebbe di individuare sia il reflusso acido sia il reflusso debolmente acido e la relativa associazione con i sintomi. Questa tecnica permette di identificare due sottocategorie di NERD (ovvero pazienti con un eccesso di acido o con un esofago ipersensibile sia al reflusso acido sia al reflusso debolmente acido) e di pazienti con pirosi funzionale (che alla base dei sintomi non presentano alcun genere di reflusso e devono essere esclusi dall’ambito della GERD). Nei pazienti affetti da NERD non sono chiari i meccanismi di generazione dei sintomi, ma la presenza di esofagiti microscopiche, inclusa la dilatazione di spazi intercellulari, sembra avere un ruolo rilevante. I pazienti affetti da NERD nei quali l’acido è il principale fattore patogenetico, rispondono positivamente alla terapia con PPI, mentre quelli con esofago ipersensibile al reflusso debolmente acido devono essere trattati con inibitori del reflusso o mediante chirurgia, sebbene l’esperienza in questo campo sia molto scarsa. I pazienti con pirosi funzionale dovrebbero sottoporsi a terapia con modulatori del dolore, ma sono necessari ampi studi controllati con placebo.
