Since 2010 Translations To Go has existed as a small Translating and Interpreting company based in Scotland which is dedicated to any type of translations big or small with fast turn-around times. The creator is British born but spent most of her childhood and teenage years in Spain. She is fully bilingual in both Spanish and English. She also speaks French and Italian. When she was 16, she developed a passion for Italy and the Italian language and has since acquired an advanced level of written and spoken Italian. She has also lived and worked in a number of countries including the United Kingdom, Spain, France, Italy, Israel, Peru, United States and Canada.
Tanya decided to pursue her career as a Translator and Interpreter after graduating in 2008 from University College London with an Honour’s degree in Italian language and Modern Languages. In 2012, she completed a MSc Postgraduate Diploma in Translation and Conference Interpreting at Heriot-Watt University, Edinburgh where she mastered techniques such as Simultaneous, Conference and Public Service Interpreting. She also studied modules including subtitling translation and International Relations. Tanya also completed a certificate in Simultaneous Interpreting at the Madrid School of Translators and Interpreters (Escuela de Traductores e Interpretes de Madrid) in 2012.
Tanya has also gained experience as an intern in-house translator for a Search Engine Marketing (SEM) and Search Engine Optimization (SEO) company in Tel Aviv, Israel in 2009. She has briefly worked as an interpreter and in-house translator for a solicitor’s office in Orihuela, Spain. During her time here she also interpreted at a Notary Public. Furthermore, Tanya gained significant legal translation experience in the winter of 2011 after having secured a place as an intern at the prestigious law firm, Baker & McKenzie in Madrid.
More recently in 2014, Tanya acted as a Spanish Interpreter for a workshop and various meetings on the subject of Gender Equality at the Canadian NGO Care Canada in Ottawa. In the summer of 2017, she travelled to Trujillo, northern Peru with a group of doctors who were representing the charity TwoWeeks. Here Tanya simultaneously interpreted various health checks and workshops at SKIP, a children’s NGO.
Her interests truly remain in interpreting and translating for NGOs and charities and assisting these in any way she can.
