I was born in Japan, and lived in North America from age 7 to 31. I attended Japanese School on Saturdays (for Japanese kids to keep up with the curriculum in Japan). I currently live in Japan, so I know both cultures firsthand. I learned my English with the rest of my English-speaking peers, but I'm a native speaker who cares about grammar. Because of my personality, I am driven to be thorough and search for terms which may have an official corresponding term. I don't just make it up myself. I'm also meticulous about using the same terms throughout a document. Before calling myself a Translator starting in 2014, I had over 10 years of experience in exporting. In addition to the translating I did there of correspondence and documents, my experience of having to use many software programs, as well as being in charge of bookkeeping, safety standards such as JIS and DOT, municipal applications, MSDS, and website creation, have given me intuition in a wide range of topics which I've found helpful in my translation work. I can convey meaning from English to Japanese as well, but my English business writing is of higher quality. For this reason, I offer Japanese-to-English translation. |
