Source text - Korean 책 리뷰를 올릴 때 보면 평가를 위한 다섯 개의 별이 보인다.
어떤 기준으로 책을 평가 해야 할 지, 잠시 망설일 때가 있다.
내가 감히 책을 평가할 수 있을 만큼 충분한 소양을 가졌는가?
전혀 다른 쟝르의 책들과 비교할 수 있는가, 아니면, 그 비슷한 류의 책들을 다 읽어 보고 비교할 것인가?
하지만, 어차피 순수한 객관적인 관점이 있을 수 없다면 편하게 주관적으로 평가하면 된다.
별 다섯이 되려면, 우선, '아하.. 이렇게 생각할 수도 있구나, 그것 참 참신하다' 하는 책이어야 한다.
"아하 효과"를 줄 수 있는 이런 책들은 우물안 개구리 처럼 살고 있는 나에게 밝은 빛이 되어 줄 것이기 때문이다.
그리고, 다시 읽어 보고 싶은 책이어야 한다.
한번 읽고 책꽂이에 넣더라도 언젠가는 다시 꺼내 보고 싶은 생각이 들어야 한다.
다시 읽어 보고 싶은 책들은 내 수준 보다 조금 어려워야 하고, '도대체 그 내용이 무슨 의미였더라' 하면서 계속 궁금해 하는 것이다.
좋은 책은 다른 사람들에게 추천하고 싶은 책이다.
별 넷이 되려면, 무언가 좋은 것 같기는 한데, 다른 사람들에게 자신 있게 추천하기를 주저한다.
별 다섯은 다시 읽어 보고 싶지만, 별 넷은 한번 읽는 것으로 충분하다고 생각이 든다.
그리고, 새로운 관점이 그리 강하지 않으면, 나는 별 넷을 선택한다.
별 셋은 사실, 읽으면서 '내가 왜 이 책을 읽고 있나..'할 때이고, 시간이 아깝기도 하고 책의 큰 흐름만 잡고 덥어둔다.
잠이 안 올 때 잠이 오게끔 도와주는 지루한 책으로도 활용하고 싶지 않은 책들이다.
그런데, 별 하나나 두 개가 아니고 셋인 이유는, 여하튼, 애써서 책으로 나왔기 때문이다.

Do I have enough knowledge as much as I dare to judge a book?
Can I compare the book with other books in totally different genre, or should I read all other books in the similar category and compare them?
However, if I cannot have true objective points of view, I may feel comfortable to rate it subjectively.
If a book is rated as five stars, first of all, it should make me think ‘Aha, the author thinks different in a new way, and this is pretty innovative.’
These books that give me ‘Aha Effects’ will be the bright light to me, which leads me out of a narrow and limited view.
Also, these are the books that I would like to read again.
Once finishing up reading it and putting it to the bookshelf, I am supposed to feel like reading it again.
If it is a five-star-rated book, it should be a little difficult to understand at my level, and I keep questioning ‘What in the world does it mean?’.
A good book is the one I would like to recommend other people to read as well.
If a book is rated as four stars, there is something good about it, but I am not willing to recommend it to others with confidence.
I would like to read a five-star book a few more times, but a four-star book is good enough to be read just once.
Plus, when a book does have a new perspective but not that strong, I would choose four stars.
Regarding three stars, as a matter of fact, I feel, ‘Why am I reading this?’and my time is being wasted, so I fold it down after getting the big structure of the book.
Those are the boring books that I don’t want to use in order to fall asleep.
But, the reason why it has three stars, not just one or two stars is that there are some efforts to publish it out.
