Source text - English The Mole Antonelliana is the major landmark of Turin. Thanks to its panoramic elevator, it stands above the city with an astonishing sight at 85 meters of height, reachable in just 59 seconds. Its history goes back to the late 1863, when it was originally built as a synagogue; to this day, it contains the heart of the National Cinema Museum, «a dive into a total immersion into the world of moving pictures and fiction», said its set designer François Confino . In 2004, the Mole became the main host of Davide Ferrario’s film, Dopo Mezzanotte, while the Museum received an incoming flow of 532.196 visitors in 2008.
Until the beginning of the 1900s the Mole was Europe’s highest masonry building, thanks to its 168 meters of height. Currently, besides housing various exhibition itineraries, which run from the theme of archeology to the cinema machinery, the Mole is also Turin’s highest building.

Nel 2004, inoltre, la Mole diventa la simbolica protagonista del film Dopo Mezzanotte di Davide Ferrario, mentre il museo riceve un afflusso di 532.196 visitatori nel 2008.
Fino all’inzio del Novecento era, con i suoi 168 metri di altezza, l’edficio in muratura più alto d’Europa. Attualmente, oltre ad allestire diversi percorsi, che spaziano dall’esposizione dell’archeologia alla macchina del cinema, è anche l’edificio più alto della città.
