Thank you for visiting my profile! My name is Maria, and I have a passion for language and culture! I have been a freelance translator since 2015. During my undergrad, I participated in two exchange programs, one to the Universität Bonn and the other to the Universidad de Chile in Santiago. In 2011, I graduated with a major in Spanish and minor in Germanic Studies, after which I moved to Cordoba, Argentina, where I lived for the next two years. Upon my return to Canada, I completed a Certificate in Advanced Spanish Translation at the University of British-Columbia, and in 2019 I joined the Society of Translators and Interpreters of British-Columbia as an Associate Member. I also work in English language assessment and have been teaching ESL since completing a TESOL diploma in 2012. I speak Spanish (Argentine Spanish) at home on a daily basis, as I married someone from Latin America. I love working with languages, and I am so thankful that it allows me to continue learning and developing, both personally and as a professional.
