A elevada frequência de excesso de peso provavelmente relaciona-se à estratégia de constituição da amostra. Os participantes deste estudo já haviam participado de estudos anteriores. Assim, é possível que os pais mais preocupados com o peso dos filhos tenham respondido mais favoravelmente ao convite a esta pesquisa. The high frequency of overweight may relate to sampling strategy. All participants have already taken part in previous studies. Therefore, parents who were worried about their children's weight were more likely to accept the invitation to the study. This perspective, however, is not an inconvenience to this research, which aimed to assess the relation between, rather than the frequency of, structural or functional changes and the outcome which constitutes the stiffness of the large blood vessels, the carotid-femoral PWV. |
