Our markets: Growth was weak in emerging markets as economic pressures impacted consumer demand. Developed markets were flat, with a modest pick-up in North America partly offsetting market contraction in Europe. Globally, our markets grew by around 2.5% with flat volumes.
Overall performance: In 2014 we grew ahead of our markets, both in volume and value. With weaker consumer demand, underlying sales growth in emerging markets slowed to 5.7% whilst developed markets declined by (0.8)%. Home Care, Personal Care and Refreshment all grew but Foods was adversely impacted by spreads.
In the fourth quarter underlying sales grew 2.1% with a higher contribution from price but volumes remained weak. As expected, the trade de-stocking in China continued and led to a sales decline of around 20%. This particularly impacted Personal Care and Home Care. In many regions, competitive intensity remains high in all categories, and notably in Personal Care and Home Care.
For the full year core operating margin improved 40bps to 14.5% at current exchange rates. Gross margin declined by 20bps to 41.4%. This was largely driven by currency related cost increases in emerging markets, partly offset by pricing, savings and mix such as margin-accretive innovation. Significant efficiencies in the cost of producing advertising allowed us to increase our share of spend whilst maintaining brand and marketing investment at 14.8%. Overheads were reduced by 60bps, benefiting from stepped up savings efforts behind project Half.

Consultant agrees to protect the confidentiality of all Confidential Information and, except as permitted in this section, Consultant shall neither use nor disclose the Confidential Information. Exclusion from Nondisclosure and Nonuse Obligations. OOOO to Begin Launching TECFIDERA in Initial EU Countries in the Coming Weeks
TECFIDERA® (dimethyl fumarate) is an oral therapy approved in the United States for the treatment of relapsing forms of multiple sclerosis which is the most common form of the disease. TECFIDERA has been proven to significantly reduce important measures of disease activity, including relapses and development of brain lesions, as well as to slow disability progression over time, while demonstrating a favorable safety and tolerability profile.
TECFIDERA is contraindicated in patients with a known hypersensitivity to dimethyl fumarate or any of the excipients of TECFIDERA and can cause anaphylaxis and angioedema, progressive multifocal leukoencephalopathy (PML), lymphopenia and flushing. The most common adverse reactions for TECFIDERA were flushing, mostly mild to moderate in nature, and GI events (i.e., diarrhea, nausea, abdominal pain). These events are most common at the start of therapy and usually decrease over time. Because TECFIDERA may decrease lymphocyte counts, a CBC including lymphocyte count should be obtained before initiating TECFIDERA, after 6 months, and every 6 to 12 months thereafter.

After I received the offers from two UC campuses, I hesitated. Both campuses accepted me as a business major. I had no engineering option at that time. After receiving my acceptances, I needed to fly back to Hong Kong for personal reasons. While I travelling on the aircraft, I kept thinking about that question; to enroll or not to enroll? Just when the plane touched down, the spoilers quickly rose, and the mechanism inside the wing came into my view. That scene completely fascinated me. A great feeling of curiosity about the mechanism filled my mind. My college-major question was answered at that moment. I changed my focus completely to engineering. I developed a new plan to enroll at Chabot community college, and then apply as a mechanical engineering major as transfer student.
In my Chabot years, I took many major-required courses. Having a chance to deeply learn physics (particularly mechanics), I can now answer some of the questions I had about machinery. For example, I learned the function of the four strokes of the internal combustion engine cycle that powers automobiles. I also learned different kinds of object-motion, and the concept of the center of gravity. I even did a class project on the motion of airplanes. My analysis included the calculation of the center of gravity, the centripetal force when an airplane makes a turn, and the torque generated when it yaws.

English to Arabic: Journalism
Source text - English In modern societies, journalism has become the media of mass education providing supplementary education to students at all stages and to the general masses-educated and uneducated.
All activities concerned with the communication of mass media is not journalism but the part of that activity involving writing, preparation and production of the communication messages is journalism. Thus, essentially journalists are writers, authors, reporters, correspondents, editors, sub-editors, interviewers, story writers, script writers, scenario editors and allied specialists.
The mass media are capable of reaching vast widespread audiences, thanks to fast' moving newspapers, radio broadcasts, TV telecasts and the celluloid films. A single broadcasting network today can reach millions of people at the same time.
The world stands at the threshold of new communication systems which enable large number of citizens to regularly and effectively interact with each 'other.
To make full use of the interactive information systems made possible by the computer technology, citizens can remain so well informed that they will be able to perform their duty adequately and efficiently and accelerate the process of development in different social fields.
Modern communication systems reflect the philosophy and achievements of society in all spheres by fast flow and pave the way for the homogeneity of culture-not only within its geographical unit but also beyond.
Journalism and Education
With the mass communication at its disposal, the journalist can spread literacy so that citizens can be taught the skills needed for their respective fields of activity. The basic need of a developing country is literacy.
Literacy is a must if a nation has to aspire for wide participation of all citizens in nation building activities of different sort. With the help of a crash programme in teaching adults to read and an expansion of institutions until every child has a school to attend, journalists are trying the audio-visual media to leap over the barriers of illiteracy and provide knowledge and awareness about social problems to citizens.
Journalism is the publication of news and views on various aspects of human activities in newspapers and periodicals. In a broader sense, the functions of journalism are to convey national policies to the public, and to keep the Government, at Local State and Central levels, informed of public needs.
Translation - Arabic لقد أصبحت الصحافة، في المجتمعات الحديثة، الوسيلة الإعلامية المعنية بتعليم الجماهير بفضل ما تقدمه من خدمات تعليمية تكميلية للطلاب في كافة المراحل وللجماهير المتعلمة وغير المتعلمة على حد سواء.
ومع أن الأنشطة المعنية باتصالات وسائل الإعلام ليست جميعها صحافة، إلا أن الجزء الذي ينطوي منها على كتابة رسائل الاتصالات وإعدادها وإنشاءها هو الصحافة. ومن ثمّ فإن الصحفيين في الأساس هم كتّاب ومؤلفون ومقررون ومراسلون ومحررون ومحررون مساعدون ومحاورون وكتاب قصص وكتاب سيناريوهات ومحررو سيناريوهات ومتخصصون متزاملون.
كما أن وسائل الإعلام قادرة على الوصول إلى قاعدة عريضة من الجمهور بفضل الصحف سريعة الانتشار والبرامج الإذاعية والإذاعات التلفزيونية والأفلام السينمائية، إذ يمكن لشبكة بث واحدة في الوقت الحاضر أن تصل إلى ملايين الأشخاص في الوقت نفسه.
إن العالم يقف على أعتاب أنظمة اتصالات جديدة تعمل على تمكين عدد كبير من المواطنين من التفاعل مع بعضهم بعضًا بانتظام وفاعلية.
ومن أجل تحقيق الاستفادة الكاملة من أنظمة المعلومات التفاعلية التي باتت ممكنة بفضل تكنولوجيا الكمبيوتر يجب أن يظل المواطنون على علم تام بأنهم سيكونوا قادرين على أداء واجباتهم على نحو كاف وفعال وأنهم سيكونوا قادرين على تسريع عملية التنمية في المجالات الاجتماعية المختلفة.
كما تعكس أنظمة الاتصالات الحديثة فلسفة المجتمع وإنجازاته في شتى المجالات من خلال التدفق السريع وتمهيد الطريق لتجانس الثقافة، ليس فقط داخل وحدتها الجغرافية ولكن أيضًا خارجها.
الصحافة والتعليم
مع توافر وسائل الاتصال الجماهيري أمام الصحفيين يمكن للصحفي محو أمية المواطنين حتى يتمكنوا من تعلم المهارات اللازمة للمجالات التي ينشطون فيها، فمحو الأمية هي الحاجة الأساسية للدولة النامية.
كما أن محو الأمية ضرورة لا بد منها إذا كانت الدولة تتطلع إلى مشاركة جميع مواطنيها على نطاق واسع في أنشطة بناء الدولة. وبفضل مساعدة البرامج المكثفة لتعليم القراءة للكبار وتوسيع المؤسسات حتى يكون لكل طفل مدرسة يلتحق بها، يجرب الصحفيون وسائل الإعلام السمعية والبصرية لتخطي حواجز الأمية وتعريف المواطنين وتوعيتهم بالمشاكل الاجتماعية.
إن الصحافة هي نشر أخبار ووجهات نظر حول مختلف جوانب الأنشطة البشرية في الصحف والمجلات الدورية. وبتعبير أعم فإن وظائف الصحافة تتمثل في إيصال السياسات الوطنية للجمهور وإبقاء الحكومة على علم باحتياجات الجمهور على المستويين المحلي والمركزي.
