I offer DTP services for either translation companies or direct clients.

Translation companies

Output of CAT-tools implemented translation process mostly requires additional DTP works to achieve ready-to-print deliveries.

Related to all kind of user or technical manuals, booklets, catalogues, leaflets, folder, bulletins, magazines, PDFs documentations and any other type of documents including images, specific fonts, links and a set layout,
I can efficiently bring translated documents to ready-to-print form.

Direct clients

I am able to offer brand new designs. My works distinguish themselves as either printed or screen presentations with their look and feel, that will increase the value of your final documents' output.

My service guarantees to adapt your content, images, tables, etc. to a set document-standard preserving your documents' look and feel as well as your business' prestige across all markets.

Since I have an interest to complete design of any kind of documents including visual content, such as booklets, brochures, catalogues, web pages, presentations with any size and volume, I try to update my knowledge and skills depending on the rising standards of the applications in order to work with any format on different platforms on time, as well as working with the documents with different languages (especially translations from any language to Turkish which is my native language),

The DTP Services include;

• Working with popular graphic design layout applications and markup languages such as HTML for web sites as well as online documentation formats such as Acrobat PDF and others
• Using appropriate or equivalent fonts needed for the target language
• Formatting and page layout
• Creating and editing graphics (images, illustrations, diagrams, etc.)
• Converting / generating output for translated material in multiple formats (creating PDF files for publishing company)
• Keeping layout across all language versions consistent
• Keeping you informed for the whole process and in necessary steps about the irregularities in the translated content and occurring errors
• Adopting the document according to the typographical rules of the target language (for English and Turkish)

I can handle the necessary steps from DTP for documentation, to graphics localization of images and photos and also offer a solution when a layout correction is needed.

I am working with the following DTP and graphics applications on both Macintosh and Windows platforms;

A typical workflow for the DTP services is listed below;

2. Financial analysis, submitting proposal (I can work on a few pages for free to show you my skills on my precision work before the proposal step),

6. Re-check the work,
7. Client's review,
8. DTP according to the revisions,

10. Corrections according to the revisions,
11. Client's approval,
12. Final delivery,
13. Financial closure of the project.

DTP Projects may have too many items. In order to prepare a good and correct proposal, I care about the following items;

1. Page size which is important for the page load of the project.
2. Page count.
3. Tables. Working with tables may be troublesome.
4. Source material. A key to complete a good service with high quality. How easy are the materials you provide to be used for editing?
5. Illustrations and pictures. The extraction of the images and also erasing and replacing merged text can be very troublesome.
6. Fonts. The document may not have the common fonts that are usually used. In that case, will the client accept the closest similar fonts or will they provide the special fonts? E.g. Translations to Turkish will have special characters that are not used in Western languages. In that case a font editing can be needed. I also give that service.
7. Languages. I can provide a high quality service especially from English to Turkish DTP projects, having highly qualified language skills in Turkish.

An additional info about me;
I have extensive experience in graphic design through my work at different organizations as an in-house and/or contract-based graphic designer. I joined the Alafranga DTP team (Company Web Page) in 2013 and have undertaken many complex large-scale DTP projects. Specialized in DTP along with 3D modeling and web design, I am competent in almost all major editing and graphic design software, such as Adobe inDesign, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe FrameMaker, Microsoft Word, and Microsoft PowerPoint. I also have over 10 years of experience on user interface design for web and other systems, including mobile devices and kiosks at terminals. I am also interested in photography, music compositions and performing as a singer and guitar player.
