Bio
I am student completing my Master's degree looking for new
and exciting freelance opportunities
with flexible hours. I want to contribute to companies who share in some of my
own passions.
Currently, I am completing a certificate in Technical and Professional Communication, which is supplying
me with many new skills that would make me a valuable asset to any company.
Through my travels and studies in Europe and Canada, I have gained
a respect and admiration for the richness of different cultures and for the colourful
sounds of European languages.
During my studies in Portugal, I worked for a Language
Institute where I undertook translation of all in-house documents and
advertisements. I also did some freelance translation (Portuguese/English) during
that time. When I returned to Canada, I was a receptionist at a Pharmaceutical
company and translated many of their in-house advertisements and communications
(French/English) as part of my duties as a bilingual receptionist.
My more recent background as a teacher has offered me invaluable skills
such as working under strict timelines, writing coherent, readable reports and
being a team player - all in an ever-changing environment that requires
infinite flexibility of mind and spirit. This is a new career for me, but one I come into with experience and know-how.
