Translation - English XXX took over the project on August 28, 2017, submitting the first EIA following the corruption scandal involving the Brazilian company, XXX. That first study was withdrawn on March 13, 2018 and then resubmitted 10 months later with a 14-hectare reduction to the project footprint, leaving a total of 161 hectares to be impacted between California and Suratá.
Subsequent to these statements and the new assessment, the Santurbán Páramo Defense Committee maintained its position on the issue and questioned how an entity such as the ANLA could accept such a project without even knowing the results of the new demarcation, now underway in the paramo.

Translation - English Type of Trap
The Mahuida Cupén structure is an east-west oriented anticline with a four-way closure whose origin is associated with the uplift of the Huincal Arch and, in particular, to a basement inversion fault of east-west orientation and southern incline, known as the Sierra Barrosa fault (Silvestro, 2008).
Along with these principal structures, normal fault systems of approximately north-south orientation running perpendicular to the anticline axis can be observed as conjugate faults generated in response to the major stress vector at the time of structuring (No. 330, according to current stress) which, combined with pre-existing (east-west) faults, result in normal displacement.

Recent projects have been related to the natural resources, mining, energy and oil & gas industries, as well as media monitoring projects involving financial, industrial, and political analysis for clients in Colombia and Puerto Rico. Technical translations include Environmental Impact Assessments, tender documents, geological studies and academic papers (recent academic topics have included AI, linguistics, machine learning and neurology).
More artistic projects have recently included a catalog of artisan textiles and overview of the Latin American textile industry.
I am an English Canadian but I have been living in Latin America since 2005, first in Buenos Aires and then, as of 2018, in Santiago, Chile. I have completed a 4-year simultaneous interpretation program in Buenos Aires and a 1-year diploma in interpretation in Santiago, Chile.
Though my academic background is in Art History (B.A., McGill University; M.A, Tufts University), prior to working as a translator I spent 15 years working as a web and graphic designer. Hence, I have extensive understanding of IT and computers, have translated websites for many clients, and have also translated texts related to the field.
As part of my development as a translator, I have enrolled in an online Master's in Technical Translation at the Universidad Internacional Menéndez Pelayo, and will complete the program in 2020.
