Dear outsourcers, I'd like to welcome you to my personal profile. If you'd like to get further information about myself - my education and my professional experience - I invite to you keep reading this bio.
I'm Najwa Ghafour, currently a translator, interpreter, teacher, proofreader and PhD candidate. I was born in Alicante (Spain), although my roots are based on somewhere else, Lebanon. This has allowed me to grow up in a bicultural environment, which at the same time, made my interest in languages grow. Therefore, I'm a Spanish and Arabic native speaker.
The Translation and Interpreting degree has been the best investment I made in my life. I'm a graduate from University of Alicante, and I also got a Masters Degree on Institutional Translation. My working languages are - besides my mother tongues - English, French and Catalan, and I'm currently studying Turkish too.
Regarding my professional experience, I've worked for several translation companies:
- Trayma Traducciones, a Translation and Interpreting company based in Alicante. For that job, I got experience in all kinds of translations: I did sworn translation texts from EN into SPA and viceversa, as well as from Arabic into Spanish and viceversa; I proofread technical texts from FR and EN into Spanish; I also translated other legal, economic and financial texts from EN>SPA and viceversa... This was my first job as a translator and it enriched my knowledge on these fields.
- Oxfam Intermon, for a volunteering job I had to get further experience while studying. The topics of such texts where related to Human and Civil Rights, as well as Women Empowerment. I had to face some tricky translation projects from English into Spanish, French into Spanish and Arabic into Spanish. I also had the chance to proofread other texts my colleagues had translated.
I hope I can be of your help one day.
Thanks for your time,
Najwa Ghafour.
