An Experienced and Certified Freelance Translator and SW Localizer

I have been working in the field of sw localization for over 15 years.
My great passion for the world of IT and my authentic interest in the countless resources and opportunities offered by the Internet have been the driving factors of my choice to specialize in software and website localization

The attendance of a Master in Business Administration after my graduation offered me the precious opportunity to enrich and complement my literary background.
My further specialization in marketing translations, collaterals, company brochures, press releases, e-learning courses, etc. is therefore the result of both my interest in these subject matters and areas (inspired by my business studies) and my long-lasting love for words and writing. An ideal match.

I am curious, versatile and I love new technologies.

I also coordinate a team of freelance translators who work together in order to handle big workloads and projects of considerable size.
Occasionally I volunteer on pro bono translations for registered charities.

My Work

In over 15 years of experience, I have had the privilege to work for some of the major players of the software and hardware industry.
Microsoft, IBM, Apple, Yahoo, Dell, Oracle, Adobe, Autodesk, Kaspersky, PTC, Canon, Siebel, Novell, SAP are just some of my end clients, mostly through international localization agencies and sometimes through direct contacts.

I specialize in the localization of UI, online helps, documentation, websites.

I also work on SW testing. My most significant experience in QA testing was in Raleigh, North Carolina, at the IBM headquarters.

I have translated two books for PITMAN Publishing House, The Institute of Management series
How To Lead Your Business Beyond TQM (Oltre la qualità totale) and The Field Sales Handbook (Il manuale del perfetto agente di vendita)

For over 3 years I translated the section "Internet al lavoro" of the Italian computer magazine "Internet Magazine .net". The source were the British magazines "Internet .net" and "Internet.Works".

My Education

-Master in Business Administration at the Istituto Guglielmo Tagliacarne in Rome. Honors Student.

-Degree in English Language and Literature at the University of Naples Federico II. Final mark: 110/100 with distinction.
Title of my dissertation: "Samuel Beckett self-translator. En attendant Godot-Waiting for Godot".

-High School (Liceo Classico). Final mark: 54/60

- I keep myself constantly updated on the rapid developments of my fields of interest. The world of IT is so dynamic and full of exciting changes that my training is ongoing.

CAT Tools

I work with the most important CAT tools available on the market: Trados Studio 2009, Trados 8.0, SDLX, Idiom, IBM Translation Manager, Passolo, Star Transit Satellite Edition, Helium, QT Linguist, etc.

I am always open and interested in learning and testing other tools. My learning curve is very fast.
