Born in
Turkey in 1980, the first time I was truly exposed to English was back in 1985
when I was five years old. Due to my mother’s post an as an attaché at the
Turkish Embassy in London I spent a year in London and picked up the language
(and the British Accent) at a very early age.
Then until
1992 we stayed on and off in the UK for a further 4 years.
Until late 2003
I completed my secondary and higher education in Turkey and obtained my bachelor’s
degree in Public Finance.
Then in
September 2003, I enrolled at the University of Kent / Kent Business School –
MBA programme.
From 2005
to 2018 I worked in Turkey in various sectors including Construction &
Consultancy. I used to be the Contract Manager at a reputable Turkish
construction company.
In addition
to my various posts, since 2003 I have been active as a Turkish/English –
English/Turkish translator & interpreter. Moreover, in 2016 I became a
partner in a Turkish Translation Agency and served both as a translator and
managing director.
As of July
2018, I have moved to London UK with my family and have established a
translation company here.
Owing to my
past experiences and language skills, I am highly competent in many fields in
terms of translation & interpretation. Having said this the fields which I have
absolute expertise are (not limited to):
-
Commerce
-
Finance
-
Marketing
-
Law
(especially contracts)
-
Accounting
-
International
Relations
-
Literature
-
Politics
I am also
highly experienced and competent in consecutive interpretation. I have had the
opportunity to work with many esteemed clients including private companies,
state companies, TV broadcasters etc.
Last but
not least; I am able to issue invoices from my UK company for the translation
& interpretation services provided.
