Bio
My educational background determined my translation areas of specialization. I have three degrees: in Linguistics (English and German), Biology and Pedagogics, and after that, I completed the 3-year postgraduate program of the Department of Ecology and Human Genetics.
Thus, when I started my translation work after graduation, I was mainly involved into clinical trials field with various types of documents both patient-facing and specialist-facing ones. I also translate personal medical records, from and into English.
At the very beginning of my translation career I got an opportunity to work onto projects for USA-based Russian speaking community, so another medical area for my translation is health insurance materials for USA insurance programs and companies, the same is for various educational and social programs in USA.
Variety of my personal interests and personal experience let me successfully work into very different areas, like fitness, makeup, fashion and beauty, videogames and mobile apps localization, subtitling and gambling, often including SEO-copywriting aspects in these fields.
My list of on-site employments includes positions of beauty shop manager, event manager assistant in music industry, animal trainer, performer, make-up artist and restoration artist – each one related to translation aspects on some scale.
I am familiar with various CAT-tools and fond of linguistic research and new information, yet attentive to the details of formatting and other minor editorial aspects.
I’m flexible with my business hours and rates, according to the level of your requirements – please do not hesitate to ask, and I’m looking forward to collaborating!..
P.S. I am legally registered as a self-emloyed translator, so I have business accounts for transfers, and certificate of tax residency (for EU).
