When I was 10 years old, I was eagerly looking forward to not only summer vacation, but the begin of the new school year in September: I would be in Secondary School then – and finally learn English. I had always been a regular in the 3 public libraries in my small Bavarian hometown near Munich, more and more often taking home the English language edition of my favourite comic: Asterix. I shlepped home as many as I could carry, closed the door to my room, sat down on my bed – and read them out loud. The pronunciation of English I would take from the pop songs on the radio.

My interest in languages never ceased, and I studied Linguistics in Japan.

In 2011 I went to India to work with an NGO and live in the ashram there. I have been involved in course development, translation of books and articles (human rights, women empowerment, environment and sustainability), and interpreting for patients at the ashram hospital.

In April 2021 I received my autism diagnosis. My entire life unrolled backwards, memories came back… it was quite like the proverbial movie. The traumatizing experience of school… Dozens of, often not any less terrible, workplace experiences I had never understood at the time… Suddenly everything made sense.

I picked up art again. It had been a daily companion until my early adulthood although I never went to the arts academy. I wrote a book. My book. It will come out later this year.

I studied and learned as much as I could on neuroscience, psychology, and by extension medicine and alternative medicine (e.g. Ayurveda), education, and I continue to do so. I offer my services in translation and interpreting, including localization and subtitling, for German/Spanish/English:
