Translating Experience
Free-lance
translator on a full-time basis for companies based worldwide: Denver (US),
Cambridge (US), Wenatchee (US),
Chicago (US), St. Louis (US), Michigan (US), New York (US), Toronto (Canada),
Sheffield (UK), Madrid (Spain), Amstelveen (The Netherlands), Montevideo

In 2001, I founded my own
translation agency, Padanas Traducciones. I still work as a freelancer but I can also
offer more extensive services if needed.
2004-2005, I was hired by an
US translation agency to work with a team of translators in the Spanish version
of the United States Pharmacopeia. I participated in
the three stages (translation, editing and proofreading). This Project lasted
approximately one year.
2000-Present I work regularly
through different translation agencies in smaller projects, that include among
many others, patient information brochures and manuals, medical protocols for
FDA approval of new drugs, ICF forms for patients participating in research
trials, patient information material for hospital discharge, user manuals for
medical devices such as blood glucose monitoring systems (Abbott), Health Insurance (Merit Life, AON,
Virginia Surety, Master Card, and others), Education Materials for teachers
and students (various School Districts of North Washington, i.e. Wenatchee,
Orondo, Eastmond, Waterville and others).
2012, My agency was
hired by Burg Translations Inc., to translate, edit, proofread and DTP the
Spanish version of the Red Book published by the American Academy of
Pediatrics. I was the editor of this project. The whole project involved 1,000
pages to DTP and 500,000 words to translate.
2015 We were hired again by Burg
Translations Inc. to do the update of the Red Book published by the American
Academy of Pediatrics.
2016 We were hired by Burg
Translations Inc. for the translation of the book “Caring for Your Baby and
Young Child” published by the AAP. This project involved 350,000 words to
translate, edit and proofread and 960 pages to DTP.
