Bio

Writer and translator, I was born in Mexico City. I studied Philosophy at the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (UNAM), and a Master in Translation at the Colegio de México (Colmex). I’ve wrtten the short story books Insfinitas cosas (Alfaguara, 2011), and Transfinitas cosas (Literalia, 2018); the rest of my work is available at hugolabravo.com. I started my translation career through the 43rd Punto de Partida Contest, which I won with a text by Amélie Nothomb. From then on, I’ve translated several books for Penguin Random House and Planeta. My translation of Le Prix, Swiss Literature Award 2016, will come out this year at Abismos.
