Chinese to English: Advertisement for Huangshan General field: Marketing Detailed field: Tourism & Travel
Source text - Chinese
Translation - English Let yourself get enchanted by the beauty of a thousand peaks, each more spectacular than the previous. More than 70 peaks, mesmerizing in their strength, tower high above the landscape. Among them, the “Heavenly Capital” and the “Lotus Blossom” peaks, full of power and grandeur, rise up so high above, that we can hear their whispers in the wind, “come and drown yourself in strength and beauty”.
Translation - English If we say that eating Peking duck is an art form, it is not going to be an exaggeration. Every part of the process is meticulously prepared and grounded in long traditions. The chef will come in person with the whole duck, and then cut the meat and the skin into thin slices in front of the customers. The traditional, or ‘classic’, way of eating Peking duck is with a specially prepared pancake, sesame buns and a garnish of onion and sweet sauce. Usually, you will stuff one of the pancakes with some duck, onion and sweet sauce, or you can take the duck slices and dip them in the sweet sauce, and then consume them together with the onion and the pancake. However, there are people that enjoy eating the roasted duck with a mashed garlic dip, or with sliced cucumber and carrots. Some younger girls even enjoy dipping it in sugar before consumption.
The entire duck is used, nothing is thrown away. The remaining parts, such as liver, wings, eggs etc., are often used to prepare appetizers, even the bones are used to prepare a delicious soup!

Bio
I'm an aspiring translator with a couple of years of experience. I have done translations on different topics, mainly in the fields of Tourism, Education, Documentation (Diplomas, Marriage Certificates etc.) in the language pairs listed in my profile, but mainly from Chinese to English/Bulgarian. I have also worked as a freelance interpreter on a couple of occasions. Additionally, I've accompanied government delegations visiting China, where I was handling the translation, interpretation and general communication between the the sides.
In terms of education, I have a degree in Sinology from Sofia University (Bulgaria), where I was consistently in the top 10% of my class. I was awarded a full scholarship from the Chinese Government twice, first for an intensive language course (2016-2017) in the Hangzhou Normal University, and then for my Master's degree in Ningbo University, where I am currently studying translation and interpretation.
