Spanish - near-native proficiency, fifteen years of study including B.A., four years of graduate work, six months living and working in Mexico, and six years teaching Spanish at the University of Minnesota 

Portuguese - high level of proficiency, two years of intensive study for Spanish speakers, undergraduate and graduate coursework in Brazilian Literature and Culture 

Japanese - two years of coursework and two years of study and work in Japan 

More than thirty years' experience with translation, as well as Mac and PC computers, networking, software, internet, and computer-assisted language learning. Worked with educational technology at the Center for English Language and Orientation Programs at Boston University for eighteen years, taught Spanish-English Translation in an online certificate program at the University of Massachusetts Boston.
