I was born in Shizuoka, Japan. I studied at an elementary, junior high, high and 2-year English language school there. When I was 20 years old, I went to England to study at a university. I majored in Computing there. After I completed my BS degree, I enrolled a Master's degree at University of Surrey, majoring in E-commerce. After completing the degree, I came to Taiwan to find a job. I started working as an export sales representative at a plastic manufacturing company in 2003. I handled all the sales procedures such as order taking and logistic arrangements between my customers in all over the world and the factories in Taiwan and China. Since 2007, I have been teaching Japanese at an evening adult school as well. I also obtained tour manager and tour conductor licenses in Taiwan and Japan. I resigned the sales representative job in the end of 2017, and launched my career as a freelance translator in the very beginning of 2018. I found a few translation agencies via Japan Association of Translators and I have been cooperating with them. I have been translating almost everyday. I mainly translate materials in computers and information technology fields. However, I would like to challenge more different topics as my translation career will still go on for long. Since I have enough experiences and gained confidence, I would like to get jobs in better conditions so that I aim to find end clients via Proz. I also hope to meet more excellent translation agencies for improving my career as a freelance translator. I passed the exam of Certified Translation Professional in December 2020. |
