Bio
My name is Deborah Tshimanga a Congolese residing in Kenya for the past 10 years with 5 years experience in the field of translation, interpretation, video subtitling, verbatim and non verbatim transcription in (French, Lingala, English and Swahili) language pairs. I am currently freelance translator and interpreter for UNHCR, RSC(Resettlement Support Center Africa), Natallakam, DiscoverBrands, Bible society of Kenya, DUX,Ad Astra,Globo etc.
As a woman/youth immigrant myself and having worked in freelance interpreting and translation for years; I have lived among the communities whose needs are very real. The language barrier is one of main challenges in
establishing lives in a new country or region. Immigrants are vulnerable and
during the transition period while they acclimate life in the Kenya without access to interpreting and translation services, they miss out on health and social services to keep themselves, and their families healthy and safe.I'm a persistent, accurate, effective & resilient freelance French & Lingala translator and interpreter with Congolese decent who is ready to share my language and culture. My desire is to help people learn other languages as a competitive advantage.
