Source text - Korean 저널리즘은 사회에 대한 뉴스 보급에 영향을 받는 시민 사회 활동의 일부입니다. 오늘날 그것은 신문과 텔레비전, 라디오, 심지어 대부분의 인터넷 커뮤니티에 큰 영향을 미치고 있습니다. 저널리즘은 이전에는 대중이 사용할 수 없었던 정보를 다양한 계층과 연령대에 제공하는 현대 사회에서 대중 교육의 효과적인 도구가 되었습니다.
그러나 다른 나라의 정치 체제와 언론인의 윤리 사이에는 어떤 관련이 있습니까? 전문가들은 문화적, 정치적 신념이 저널리즘에 필수적인 영향을 미친다고 말합니다. 예를 들어, 유럽 국가의 민주주의 원칙은 대중 매체와 언론인에게 자제와 자유의 조건을 제공합니다. 따라서 서구 언론인 커뮤니티는 정부 규제, 사법 제도 또는 계급 불평등과 같은 논란의 여지가 있는 주제에 대해 엄격한 검열에 직면할 가능성이 적습니다. 결과적으로 저널리즘은 이들 국가에서 보다 객관적이고 편향되지 않습니다.
반면, 권위주의 체제가 수반되는 동양 국가의 보다 엄격한 시스템은 원칙과 결과에 정반대입니다. 수세기에 걸친 엄격한 위계질서와 개인이 아닌 사회의 한 부분으로서 언론인들은 정직하고 완전한 정보를 제공할 수 없는 한계에 봉착하게 됩니다. 결국 정부를 불신하고 주민들을 무지하게 만드는 결과를 낳는다. 공평한 국내 또는 외국 언론이 없다면 당국이 모든 것을 통제할 수 있고 시민들이 적절한 정보를 갖고 있지 않기 때문에 그 누구도 막을 수 없습니다.
따라서 저널리즘의 본질은 항상 지식의 가치에 의해 정의되었습니다. 정보는 항상 모든 사람이 소유하고 싶어하는 무한한 힘과 연결되어 있고 연결될 것입니다. 저널리스트는 권위 있는 사람과 회사에 편향되지 않아야 하며, 불평등과 억압에 대해 다른 사람들이 자신의 목소리를 낼 수 있도록 해야 합니다.
Translation - English Journalism is the part of an activity in civil society which is touched by the dissemination of news about the society. Nowadays, it has a great influence on newspapers and television, radio, and even most internet communities. Journalism has become an effective tool of mass education in modern society, that provides different classes and ages with information that was not available for public usage before.
But is there any connection between political regimes in different countries and journalists’ ethics? The experts say that cultural and political believes have an essential effect on journalism. For example, democratic principles in European countries provide mass media and journalists with conditions of self-control and freedom. Thus, the Western journalists’ community is less likely to face strict censor about controversial topics, such as government regulation, the judicial legal system, or class inequality. Consequently, that makes journalism more objective and unbiased in these countries.
On the other hand, a more rigid system in Eastern countries, sometimes accompanied by an authoritarian regime, has opposed principles and consequences. The strict hierarchy through the centuries and feeling of oneself not as an individual, but as a part of society makes journalists put themselves on limits that cannot provide honest and full information. It eventually ends up with not trusting the government and having ignorant residents. Without equitable local or foreign journalism, the authorities might be in control of everything and nothing or no one would stop them, since the citizens do not have the proper information.
Thus, the essence of journalism has always been defined by the value of knowledge. The information has always been and will be connected with unlimited power, which everyone wants to possess. The journalist should be unbiased to authoritative people and companies, plus let other people make their voices be heard about inequity and oppression.
