Bio

Hello

Hope you are doing well.

My name is Mostafa
Shokry
. I’ve been living in Spain for more than two years now. I studied
Spanish literature and obtained a translation major.

My communication skills and translation have been developed
through my experience, which you will learn more about as you read this.

My Experience with Arabic:

1.      My mother tongue is Arabic.

2.      I have done my studies at Al-Azhar for 14 years,  which made my Arabic extremely processional
as we were studying 9 different subjects for the Arabic language and the Holy
Quran as well as the translation of the Holy Quran.

3.       I have done more than
thirty workshops in Arabic in different fields such as Education, Theater,
Humanity, Business, and Language, etc.

My Experience with Spanish:

1.
To add to my studies; I
have a bachelor's degree from the faculty of Spanish literature with a
translation major.

2.
While residing in Spain, I
have been doing community work with the Red cross for the elderly, the young, and immigrants. This has given me the experience to gain both sides of the
language: (the commonly used slang and the more formal way of speaking)

3.
In the Red Cross Institute,
I submit reports about all the workshops I give. This has given me the written
experience to express myself in a formal manner. This community development
work has also enhanced my knowledge of different cultures.

4.
In the past 2 years, I have
done work in many different fields such as panting, lumberjack, carpentry,
waiter, IT at company, stable of horses keeper, sales…Etc.). which increased my
knowledge about the Spanish language and the different lifestyles.

My Experience with English:

5.
I have done work as a
translator at Dawar’s association (an organization that teaches community
development through art and theater). This experience gave me the ability to
understand different cultures and enhance my translation skills which added a
lot to my translation career.

6.
I have facilitated camps in
historical places in Egypt for non- Egyptians which highly developed my
languages and gave me linguistic richness in different topics. Such an
experience gave me the flexibility to accept different cultures.

7.
I took a one-year diploma
related to community services and development which is something I seek to work
in. At the end of the Diploma, I was required to write a report about the
diploma and this was the beginning of my writing skills as it made a huge
difference in my writing skills.

8.
I have been working for the
British Council in Egypt, as a community facilitator. I was also writing reports using the English language and it
developed my writing skills.

9.
I attended 2 narration
courses delivered by Glasgow University, which immensely helped me in
developing my narration part and expressing with different languages.

10.
I attended and condensed
workshops of narration and storytelling at the American University in Cairo, and
it helped me to find the right words to deliver the needed messages.

Thank you for taking the time to review my Bio. I’m
looking forward to working together on different projects and I believe that my
skills and experience make me a qualified candidate for the translation job.

Best regards,

Mostafa Shokry
