Source text - English Easing of COVID related restrictions Western Australian Premier Mark McGowan announced a number of COVID related restrictions would cease from 12:01 am Friday, April 29. Close contacts • Close contacts with no symptoms are not required to isolate for 7 days, but must: • undertake a daily Rapid Antigen Test • wear a mask when leaving the house • avoid high-risk settings, including hospitals, healthcare settings, disability and aged care facilities, and correctional facilities • work from home, where possible • avoid non-essential gatherings and contact with people at risk of severe illness • They should also notify their employer/educational facility of their close contact status. • Close contacts with symptoms must continue to isolate until symptoms resolve and get tested as per existing protocols. • If a close contact tests positive, they must isolate for a further 7 days as per arrangements for positive COVID-19 cases. Hospitals • Two visitors are permitted per patient per day. • Essential visitors are also allowed at hospitals for compassionate reasons, birth partners, carers/parents/guardians etc. • Visitors are required to show proof of COVID-19 vaccinations and wear a mask. Schools and early childcare • The remaining public health measures in place will be removed. • Some preventative measures are retained in schools, including enhanced ventilation, mandatory vaccination and cleaning. • 12 million free RATs will be distributed to all schools and childcare facilities to parents and carers. • Parents and students will be encouraged to collect tests to ensure they are ready to test their children if symptoms develop. Source text - Japanese 未だに根強い医療用麻薬の負のイメージ病院スタッフの3～4割程度が、医療用麻薬に対して負のイメージを持っている場合もあり得ることが示唆された。これは、長野県にある飯山赤十字病院看護部の小出貴美江氏らが同病院内の医師、病棟看護師を対象に行ったアンケート調査の結果。7月4日から5日に静岡市で開催された日本緩和医療学会で発表された。この調査は、2007年12月に同病院に勤務する医師12人、病棟看護師125人を対象に行われた。その結果、全体の38.0％、医師の27.7％、看護師の39.4％が医療用麻薬（オピオイド）に対して負のイメージを持っていた。個別の設問からは、「始めると止められない」と回答した医師と看護師が約4割と、医療用麻薬に対する誤解が残っていることも明らかになった。また、「最後の段階で使用するもの」と間違った認識を持つ割合は医師がより多く、約4割となっていた。また、看護師の約2割は、「死期を早める」とも誤解していた。患者・家族に正しく説明するためにも、医療者が医療用麻薬についてのきちんとした知識を持つことが第一に必要であろう。	Translation - English Lasting negative conceptions about medical narcotics among healthcare workers A study suggests that about 30 to 40% of hospital staff possibly have negative conceptions of medical narcotics. Kimie Koide from the nursing department at the Iiyama Red Cross Hospital in Nagano Prefecture and her colleagues surveyed doctors and nurses who work in the hospital. The result was published at the Japan palliative care conference held in Shizuoka City from the 4th to the 5th of July. The study was carried out in December 2007, and 12 doctors and 125 floor nurses in the hospital were surveyed. The result shows that 38.0% of the total, 27.7% of the doctors, and 39.4% of the nurses had negative conceptions of medical narcotics (opioids). The answers revealed that some misunderstandings about medical narcotics still exist. For example, 40% of doctors and nurses answered, "People cannot stop using it once they start". 40% of doctors have the false belief that it is the final treatment used in the final stage. This ratio was higher than it was among nurses. In addition, 20% of nurses misunderstood and answered that medical narcotics bring the patient closer to death. First, medical staff need to gain more knowledge about medical narcotics to provide accurate information to patients and their families.

I was born and grew up in Japan, worked as a nurse and moved to Australia in 2013. During my stay in Australia, I also worked in aged care, customer service, and tourism. Now, I am ready to graduate from Western Sydney University (WSU) with a degree in Interpreting and Translation.

In addition to translation, I have also studied basic linguistics, intercultural communications, and computer assisted translation tool. I am currently involved in a bilingual database project, employed by WSU and working on my research skills and computer literacy.
