English to Cebuano (Bisayan): Tips to Enjoy Reading General field: Social Sciences Detailed field: Journalism
Source text - English It is important to get yourself ready to enjoy your reading session. You need to prepare your heart, mind, and environment. Here are a few tips:
1. AVOID DISTRACTIONS. If you're at a noisy place in your house, then by all means transfer locations. You may choose to be alone in your own room where you can give more focus on your reading.
2. PREPARE A GOOD ROOM. Make your chair or bed comfortable. Set the right room temperature, not too cold, and not too hot. Adjust your lighting to protect your eyes so you won’t squint. If possible, forget social media for a moment and concentrate first on the book.
3. EAT FIRST BEFORE STARTING YOUR READING PROJECT. Never go hungry if you want to understand what you are reading. For a good reading time to be fully beneficial, you need to be ready mentally and physically.

Years of experience: 20. Registered at ProZ.com: Nov 2022.
I have been a professional translator and proofreader of books and magazines for almost 20 years now. I've translated drama scripts, feature articles, life stories,
poems and songs into Cebuano. I've also done business letters from Cebuano to English. One of my most exciting tasks as a translator was doing a simultaneous interpretation of a Tagalog convention into English for the benefit of about a thousand and four hundred delegates from the United States. The interpretation was rendered to the English listeners via their earphones.
