Bio
My name is Jing Li and welcome to my page at ProZ! From 2015 to 2023, I have been working as an academic faculty member at the Department of Business Law in Tilburg University (the Netherlands), actively teaching and researching in business law related areas, which often have interdisciplinary connections with economics, sociology and political science. I received my PhD in law from Tilburg University in 2015, and also hold master degrees in Finance & Law and International Commercial Arbitration. Before joining the academia, I have also practiced Chinese law for three years mainly in the area of cross-border M&As, joint ventures, and private equity transactions, including with Paul Hastings Beijing Office and German Chamber of Commerce. During my career, I have regularly translated legal and business materials across three languages, Chinese, English, and Dutch, and impressed both my clients and students with my competence in languages.

I am also a Dutch-Chinese literary translator certified by the Dutch and Flemish Literature Foundation. Being an accredited translator there means that my fees for translating literary books from Dutch will be subsidized by the two foundations. A convenient bonus point thus! My Dutch-Chinese translation works cover a wide range of topics, from economics, to music and history, to children's and YA literature. The love for language and translation has already been part of me since I was young, but now I am proud to say that I managed to make it into a career that I can pursue!
