Translation quality is ensured due to my linguistic education, about 20 years of work in translation business (both in-house and free-lance), and constant professional development. I am a member of Ukrainian Translators Association with MA University diploma in translation. Several certificates confirm my engineering knowledge. Solid technical background allows me to translate the most complex technical manuals. I know the client's requirements and standards for translation, able to work with most contemporary translation tools including web interfaces. I support effective communication with project managers - and always find the solution if your project manager needs help. I am experienced in linguistic co-ordination and quality control of large projects done by translators teams.

Full-time freelance

I went full-time freelance in June 2009 after 5 years of in-house employment in a modern translation company as a translator, proofreader, reviewer and editor.
All my previous career was connected with translation: engineering, business, marketing, educational

Fields of expertise

Oil and gas, industrial machinery, IT, computer software and hardware, engineering, electronics, refrigeration, technical manuals, html, MSDS, patents, energy generation including gas turbines, industrial coatings, ERP, CMMS, SCADA and software localization.
This is of course a very short list of activity areas. During my in-house work I have translated, edited and proofread literally countless number of words of translations of different types, including medical equipment, computer hardware, CAD software, mining machinery, oil and gas equipment, marketing texts etc. etc.

CAT tools expert

I am proficient in using different CAT tools (which I either own or have unlimited access to), including Trados Studio 2009, Trados 2007, SDLX, Across, World Server Desktop Workbench, and many proprietory CAT tools including online (web) interfaces.

File formats accepted for translation

I accept for translation all Microsoft Office formats: (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), simple text formats (also with tags), all Trados Tag formats, FrameMaker format, Adobe Illustrator, AutoCAD, XML and HTML.

Quality check

All the translations are checked before delivery using either of the following applications:

• Trados QA Checker
• Apsic XBench

Quality assurance

• All job-specific guidelines are followed (Style Guides etc.)
• Translations are double checked (if necessary, by another person)
• Spell check performed on all file formats, including simple text (*.txt)

Experienced Russian and Ukrainian Language Lead
