I have 6 years of work experience as a proofreader, copyeditor, and translation checker, and 2 years of work experience as a translator, primarily in arts/humanities, life science/pharmaceutical, news/current affairs, and education.
I am a graduate of the University of Queensland (Australia) master’s program in English-Japanese interpreting and translation, where I trained mainly in the business, legal, and medical fields. The assignments in the program involved translation of highly complicated documents, such as medical research papers, case studies, contracts, and court judgements. I would be happy to provide my translations for such assignments as translations samples. The program also involved training in MTPE, where I developed post-editing skills and acquired proficiency in CAT tools.
I am a NAATI-certified translator (ID: CPN9WU77D) and won an award in a Japanese subtitling contest in January 2024 (https://democracynow.jp/contest/winners2023). I am also a TED translator, and my first and second subtitling projects have recently been published:
