Source text - English Everybody somehow remembers their first day in a new job at a new company. Some faces may be blurred; other will be stark in your mind. You might remember exactly what you did on that day, or you might just remember your feelings. But what would it feel like to join a company when only three people are there to welcome you? This is what happened to XXXXXXX, European Internal Audit Director. "I joined when the pandemic was at its highest peak in Madrid. Only three people were in the office and these three were only there because I was joining."
The onboarding plans that were arranged for him changed overnight, but he still had a good onboarding experience. “In my previous company I spent one year working from home, so this way of working was not new for me. The new thing was working closely and from home with people I had never met before or only very briefly. When you don’t know the people you work with, understanding their comments or reactions can be more challenging in virtual meetings. However, everybody has been very supportive during these first months and I believe that by communicating openly, we have resolved even this challenge quite well."
