Translation - English It's not a fruit of the imagination, but a reality that tourists and Florentines have been able to appreciate during the hottest summer days since last year: a beach with a view of the Ponte Vecchio and the Uffizi Gallery.
This is a green space that winds along the river Arno beneath Piazza Poggi (right in front of Porta San Niccolò). One of the most magical stretches of the whole of Florence, already a reference point for the Florentine movers and shakers and those in search of one of the best places to enjoy the summer sunsets. Now, every day until 20 September, you can sunbathe on the beds and chairs or under the parasols (can be hired free-of-charge), with the chance to refresh yourself under the showers or sprayers.

Translation - English At the end of the week dedicated to the 2008 Tuscan winemaking previews, his majesty takes to the catwalk: the Brunello di Montalcino.
Please forgive the emphasis, but this celebrated Tuscan red is a real marketing phenomenon today, so much so that the 2003 vintage that we were able to taste on your behalf at the “Welcome Brunello” preview has already almost been sold out before entering the market!
A blind loyalty that is shelved on the Millesimo 2003, which is still jealously guarded in the producers’ cellars and confirmed by the mass presence of buyers, journalists and wine lovers who climbed up the Tuscan hill to grant themselves the 2003 Brunello preview.

Translation - English The symbol of Lamporecchio, a small municipality of the Pistoiese Montalbano, is a small, sweet, crunchy wafer with a unique and unmistakable flavour: the brigidino. There are only a few people who haven't heard of them as they are generally found on stalls at fairs and festivals all over Italy, and you can't go far wrong with them. These wafers, with an aniseed aftertaste, are so famous that they have even been mentioned in Crusca's dictionary. It's impossible to talk about Lamporecchio and not think of brigidini. This small, hilly community rightly celebrates the product that made it famous around the world with a festival that takes place during the summer festival that is actually called “August and the brigidino festival".

I specialise in cook book translations and editing due to over six years experience gained in a book publishing environment. During this time I have translated and edited many cook books for international publishing houses in the USA, UK and Italy. Given that I am based in Italy, I have worked predominantly on Mediterranean material, although my interest and experience does extend geographically into other areas and fields. I have also attended a Cordon Bleu cooking course to better understand actual cooking processes. I have been trained to edit cook books in both British and American English.
I have also worked as a senior editor in humanities for the secondary school textbook and e-learning market and have considerable knowledge of geography, history, religious studies and travel and tourism, which I have applied in translations.
