Methylphenidate HCl is a central nervous system (CNS) stimulant. The mode of therapeutic action in Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) is not known. Methylphenidate is thought to block the reuptake of norepinephrine and dopamine into the presynaptic neuron and increase the release of these monoamines into the extraneuronal space. Methylphenidate is a racemic mixture comprised of the d- and l-isomers. The d-isomer is more pharmacologically active than the l-isomer.
Dose Proportionality
Following administration of XXX® in single doses of 18, 36, and 54 mg/day to adults, Cmax and AUC (0-inf) of d-methylphenidate were proportional to dose, whereas l-methylphenidate Cmax and AUC (0-inf) increased disproportionately with respect to dose. Following administration of XXX®, plasma concentrations of the l-isomer were approximately 1/40th the plasma concentrations of the d-isomer.
In a multiple-dose study in adolescent ADHD patients aged 13 to 16 administered their prescribed dose (18 to 72 mg/day) of XXX®, mean Cmax and AUCTAU of d- and total methylphenidate increased proportionally with respect to dose.

The difficulty of cooling electrical apparatus generally increases with size, energy losses increasing roughly as the cube of the dimensions. Transformers of medium and large kVA capacity therefore have their windings immersed in a liquid which acts both as a cooling and an insulating medium. Oil-immersed transformers are enclosed in a sheet-steel tank, the oil cooling being effected by self-cooling, water-cooling, force-air-cooling, or forced-oil-cooling means.

Source text - English 1.4.2 Emissions to water
Water is used intensively in a refinery as process water and for cooling purposes. Its use contaminates the water with oil products mainly increasing the oxygen demand of the effluent. Refineries discharge waste water which originates from:
Process water, steam and wash water. These waters have been in contact with the process fluids, and apart from oil, will also have taken up hydrogen sulphide (H2S), ammonia (NH3) and phenols. The more severe the conversion processes, the more H2S and NH3 are taken up by the process water. The process water is treated in several, well-known steps before discharge to the environment.
Cooling water, once-through or circulating systems. This stream is theoretically free of oil. However, leakage into once-through systems, even at low concentrations, can result in significant mass losses because of the large volume of water involved.
Rainwater from process areas. This type of water has not been in contact with the process fluids, but it comes from rainfall on surfaces which are possibly oil-polluted. It is often referred to as ‘accidentally oil-contaminated’ water and is typically treated prior to discharge to the environment.
Rainwater from non-process areas. This stream is oil-free.
Oil and hydrocarbons are the main pollutants found in waste water generated by refineries. Other pollutants found in waste water generated by refineries are hydrogen sulphide, ammonia, phenols, benzene, cyanides and suspended solids containing metals and inorganic compounds (e.g. halides, sulphates, phosphates, sulphides).

Spesso viene denominata acqua "contaminata accidentalmente dal petrolio" e viene regolarmente trattata prima di essere scaricata nell'ambiente;
• acque meteoriche che non provengono dalle aree di processo. Questo flusso è privo di petrolio.
Petrolio e idrocarburi sono gli inquinanti principali ritrovati nelle acque reflue prodotte dalle raffinerie. Altri inquinanti presenti in queste acque sono: idrogeno solforato, ammoniaca, fenoli, benzene, cianuri e solidi sospesi contenenti metalli e composti inorganici (ad esempio alogenuri, solfati, fosfati, solfuri).

I entered the translation world as a professional 18 years ago, but I can say that I have been translating for more than 22 years along with my job as scuba diving instructor and guide. I honed my flexibility and interpretive capacity teaching, taking courses and guiding touristic groups in three languages. My education and skills in writing induced the companies I was working for to commit me translation services as well, mainly about marketing and tourism (fliers, binders, newsletters and web sites), but also some scuba diving and marine biology manuals, along with technical equipment instructions. That’s how I became a translator. To specialize more in other fields of expertise I graduated with a Master in Specialized Translation (Medicine and Pharmacy, Technology, Environment and Energy) and now I mainly work in medical and market research fields. What I like more about translation is the creative challenge to get the core meaning of a text and put it into the words of another language.
