I am a multilingual American lawyer/linguist (and licensed member of the Washington State Bar Association since 1992) with over thirteen years of experience as a professional linguist in the U.S. and abroad (Brazil, Italy and Spain).  Also, I am married to an Italian lawyer/linguist who is licensed to practice in Italy, and has several years of linguist experience, as well as prior experience working in the European offices of an American law firm based in San Francisco.  Together, we are a knowledgeable and experienced team that regularly takes on complex linguist assignments in the IT-EN language pair.  Our deliverables are generally prepared for law firms and their multinational clients, and typically fall in the areas of law, business, corporate matters and finance.

My other language pairs (source/target) by order of experience and proficiency are:  English/Spanish, Spanish/English, Portuguese/English and French/English.  My experience abroad includes acting as a Foreign Legal Consultant to a Spanish law firm and, more recently, working on the editing desk of an Italian linguist firm specializing in legal translations.

In addition to translation services, I have prepared and presented seminars and classes tailored to individual companies and organizations. I was the feature presenter of two seminars entitled “Spanish for Lawyers,” in collaboration with the Washington State Bar Association.
