Source text - English Europe’s own satellite navigation system now validated in orbit. Europe now has a own operational nucleus, a mini constellation with 4 satellites in orbit and a worldwide ground segment performing well.
The in-orbit validation phase of the Galileo programme was concluded successfully. After the first positioning fix with European means only on 12 March 2013 a wide variety of tests followed, culminating in the completion of this crucial phase by the end of 2013.
