I worked in the field of mental and public health before obtaining an M.A. in (Spanish-English) Translation & Interpretation from the Monterey Institute of International Studies.
While living in California, I did a lot of medical translation and interpretation, as well as phone interpretation for insurance companies. I also passed the written portion of both the California and Federal Court Interpreters Exams.
I then moved to Ecuador, where I taught Translation and Interpretation (in addition to editing and subtitling) at a university there, for two years. I also worked extensively as a subtitler for local TV stations and documentary makers.
I am currently based in Mexico, where I dedicate myself full-time to freelance work.
I do a lot of Spanish>English translation, especially in the areas of legal, business, academic, public health and web pages.
I also have experience in textbook translation and am often available for last minute (rushed) translation work. Other services I offer are: interpreting (consecutive, simultaneous & escort), editing, QA, transcriptions and subtitling.
