A Family Lawyer
I was a Solicitor of the Supreme Court from 1976 until 1999, when I left the law. I worked primarily in family law, dealing with divorce and children disputes (for seven years, I was on the Law Society Children Panel, entitling me to act for children in care proceedings), but I retained, throughout my practice as a lawyer, a small circle of commercial clients, who looked to me for all their needs. Much of my time was spent in dictating and proof reading documents. Though I sometimes used translators and interpreters, I used my knowledge of French and of Italian (having studied these languages to a high level at school) and of German and Spanish (having studied these languages privately after leaving school) to good effect when faced with foreign documents.

Business Strategy Consultant
In 1999, I began a new business, and trained in business strategy consulting. It was then that I obtained my Diploma in Business Excellence.

Proof Reading and Translations
In 2006, I began translating professionally French, Spanish, German and Italian, into English. My strength is in translating and proof reading legal documents, such as contracts, and documents about software, as well as medical documents, because of experience in my former roles of working with doctors and nurses, but I have experience of also translating technical, tourism texts, among others.

Aida

I am a Spanish native speaker, but I have lived in Germany for many years, and consider German to be my second mother tongue, having studied translation and interpretation at the Cologne University of Applied Sciences. However, I am also fluent in English, having lived and studied in London for three years.

I have been working in translation and interpretation for more than ten years.

I have a particular interest in medical and health issues, and in translating legal documents. I have interpreted for lawyers, courts, businessmen, diplomats etc.
